ePomodoro: user guide

I noticed that some one arrived on this blog using “how to use epomodoro eclipse plugin” as search term. Sometimes I think things all always simple, but, even for simple things it’s better to have a little guide.

So here you are some instructions!

    Hi,

    Great plugin,

But for the life of me I’m unable to get the Team View to show other people?

Do I need to have an ECF container or something running for others to appear in the list?

    Thanks

    Hello,

no other “plugin” is required to show other team members. ePomodoro plujgin installs jgroup jar that is the base of communication for the plugin.

You should check in plugin settings page (located in eclipse settings) if the ip address is correct and if groupname and multicast address are the same for all of you. Another important thing is that you can see people in the list just if they are in local lan (routers discard multicast messages).

Let me know if you can fix it or if you have other problemes.

Thank you for helping me not follow the wrong road for solving this :)

I’ve managed to solve it by adding JAVA.exe and ECLIPSE.exe to the local Corporate Firewall Software Exception list.

Awesome tool, can’t wait for the non-eclipse version :)

One other problem is that I can’t right clicker a user and send a message?

Hello. I’m working on an external epomodoro (based on eclipse naturally but not as a plugin).
To send a message to a user you can right click on the table but actually, if I remember well, works only with a right click on the first column.

I get no right click options at all :(

Awesome work on the Standalone :)

Can you open an issue on GitHub (https://github.com/mmornati/epomodoro) about the right click. I just noticed that in the latest version it does not work anymore :S I need to check it. Hope I can release a new version during the day with the fix.

Problem fixed and version 1.0.6 pushed on the market.
There is another little problem aroud this. Now you can clieck everywhere on the table and the SendMessage menu is always displayed (even if you have no user selection).
I’ll try to fix it next hours (if I have time).

    Enjoy

Yep I can now send messages :)

Though not sure how they are meant to work when someone is in a POM?

Once they come out of a pom should the message pop up instantly or will there be a lack?

All messages are sent to the users but shown only at the end of pomodoro working time!
